A fabulous spin on my favorite “Sex in the City” cocktail. Beautiful for a holiday drink or any season.
Pomegranate Cosmopolitan
Festive and tasty for the holidays or any season. The pomegranate and orange give it a little more sweetness than the slightly tart traditional combination of lime and cranberry.
Ingredients
Orange Simple Syrup
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- 3 orange wedges
The Other Stuff
- 2 oz vodka, good stuff like Tito's or KettleOne
- 1 oz of the orange simple syrup
- 2 oz cranberry pomegranate juice
- ½ oz freshly squeezed orange juice, or lemon for some tartness
Instructions
Make the Simple Syrup
- Put all three ingredients in a small saucepan. Muddle the oranges a bit to release some juice. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for another 10 minutes. Let cool completely and then refrigerate.
- Since you're making so much syrup you have to have more than one drink or share with a friend.
Make the Cocktail
- Put the vodka, syrup and juices in a cocktail shaker.
- Add ice and shake for at least 30 seconds.
- Strain into a sexy glass and garnish with orange wedge or cranberries. Cheers!
